Illinois High School Softball - Vandalia knocked off by Southwestern

In Thursday's league test, the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) softball squad overwhelmed the host Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL), by a count of 14-3.

Next, the Piasa Birds meet the Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) in a non-league test, on Friday, May 16. Southwestern will attempt to upgrade on its 15-5 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 21-5 record after their 8-0 league win over Salem (Salem, IL).

The Vandals (7-18) will now prepare for their test against Odin/Patoka/Sandoval (Sandoval, IL). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 6-8 record. In their last test, Odin/Patoka/Sandoval toppled Red Hill (Bridgeport, IL), 16-10, in a league test.
