Doherty Memorial Highlanders (Worcester, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Shepherd Hill Regional Rams (Dudley, MA), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 12-3 record. They take the field next when they host Advanced Math & Science Academy for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 18. Doherty Memorial will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 8-2 league win over Blackstone Valley RVT (Upton, MA). The Eagles record now stands at 13-1.

With the loss, Shepherd Hill Regional falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Wachusett Regional (Holden, MA) to battle the Mountaineers in a Mid-Wach challenge on Monday, May 16. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 13-1. Wachusett Regional won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Doherty Memorial (Worcester, MA)
