Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Hillcrest Hawks (Country Club Hills, IL), 15-0 in a league challenge.

The Astros now own a 19-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Stagg for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 17. Shepard will battle a Chargers squad coming off a 22-0 league loss to Lincoln-Way West (New Lenox, IL). The Chargers record now stands at 4-19.

With the loss, Hillcrest falls to 0-17 on the campaign. The Hawks host Reavis (Burbank, IL) to battle the Rams in a South Suburban challenge on Thursday, May 18. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 12-20. Reavis won 7-4 in their recent league challenge against Oak Lawn (Oak Lawn, IL)
