The Akron-Westfield Westerners baseball team scored 16 runs and limited the host Cherokee Washington Braves to 0 in the Westerners non-league victory on Thursday.
The Westerners (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Trinity Christian (Hull, IA). The Tigers go into the War Eagle match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Trinity Christian was overwhelmed by Lawton-Bronson (Lawton, IA), 11-5, in a non-league match.
The Braves (0-2) will now prepare for their match against Sioux Center (Sioux Center, IA). The Warriors go into the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Sioux Center gained a win over Western Christian (Hull, IA), 11-4, in a non-league match.
