Artesia Bulldogs (Artesia, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Bulldogs now own a 20-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gallup for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 16. Artesia will battle a Bengals squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Portales (Portales, NM). The Bengals record now stands at 20-5.
With the loss, St. Pius X falls to 19-6 on the campaign. The Sartans travel to Belen (Belen, NM) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 16. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 18-9. Belen won 6-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Valley (Albuquerque, NM)
