Our Lady of Mercy Academy Villagers (Newfield, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Gloucester Catholic Rams (Gloucester City, NJ), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Villagers now own a 10-10 record.

With the loss, Gloucester Catholic falls to 9-8 on the campaign. The Rams travel to West Deptford (Westville, NJ) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 17. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 15-6. West Deptford won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Haddon Heights (Haddon Heights, NJ)
