Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA) boosters exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting Assumption Knights (Davenport, IA), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Independence moves its record to 19-2 on the campaign.

The Knights now sport a 11-6 record. They take the field next when they host North Scott for a Mississippi Athletic test on Monday, May 19. Assumption will clash with a Lancers team coming off a 1-0 league win over Pleasant Valley (Pleasant Valley, IA). The Lancers record now stands at 9-8.
