In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Marathon Olympians softball team scored a tight 5-2 victory over the Afton Knights.
The Olympians (3-8) will now prepare for their match against Tioga (Tioga Center, NY). The Tigers go into the non-league match with a 5-3 record. In their last match, Tioga was routed by Union Springs (Union Springs, NY), 4-0, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Knights battle the Greene Trojans (Greene, NY) in a Section 4 Midstate I match, on Tuesday, May 20. Afton will attempt to better on its 9-3 season record.
