The Wheeler Lions routed the host Parish Hill Pirates softball squad by a final score of 17-0 in Tuesday's non-league battle.
The Lions (10-4) will now prepare for their battle against Windham (Willimantic, CT). The Whippets go into the Eastern Connecticut - Small battle with a 9-7 record. In their last battle, Windham notched a victory over Putnam (Putnam, CT), 1-0, in a non-league battle.
The Pirates now possess a 5-5 record. They play next when they host Norwich RVT for a non-league battle on Wednesday, May 18. Parish Hill will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 21-6 non-league win over Tourtellotte (North Grosvenordale, CT). The Warriors record now stands at 13-2.
