McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars (Salem, SD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy (Freeman, SD), 22-13 in a league challenge.

The Fighting Cougars now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Baltic for a Class B challenge on Saturday, May 18. McCook Central/Montrose will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 14-5 league loss to Chester (Chester, SD). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-11.

With the loss, Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy falls to 8-8 on the campaign.
