Gaylord Blue Devils (Gaylord, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pinckney Pirates (Pinckney, MI), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 22-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Milford for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 18. Gaylord will battle a Mavericks squad coming off a 14-1 non-league win over Williamston (Williamston, MI). The Mavericks record now stands at 6-10.

With the loss, Pinckney falls to 11-9 on the campaign. The Pirates host Hanover-Horton (Horton, MI) to battle the Comets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 18. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 8-3. Hanover-Horton lost 11-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Coldwater (Coldwater, MI)
