Orono Spartans (Long Lake, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Monticello Magic (Monticello, MN), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 7-12 record.

With the loss, Monticello falls to 8-12 on the campaign.
