The Newtown Nighthawks softball team scored 17 runs and limited the host Thomaston Bears to 1 in the Nighthawks non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Newtown improves its record to 13-6 on the year. The Nighthawks host Immaculate (Danbury, CT) to clash with the Mustangs in a Southwest - Colonial game on Saturday, May 18. The Mustangs come into the game with a record of 9-10. Immaculate won 3-0 in their recent league game against New Milford (New Milford, CT)

In their next game, the Bears clash with the Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT) in a Berkshire game, on Wednesday, May 22. Thomaston will attempt to improve on its 10-7 season record.
