In Saturday's non-league match, the host Gladstone Braves softball team scored a tight 4-3 victory over the Gaylord Blue Devils.
The Braves (21-1) will now prepare for their match against Escanaba (Escanaba, MI). The Eskymos go into the Great Northern U.P. match with a 23-3 record. In their last match, Escanaba tipped Marquette (Marquette, MI), 11-1, in a league match.
In their next game, the Blue Devils battle the Petoskey Northmen (Petoskey, MI) in a Big North match, on Tuesday, May 20. Gaylord will attempt to better on its 17-3 season record. The Northmen go into the match with a 26-5 record after their 13-6 non-league win over Bay City Western (Auburn, MI).
