St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings (Staten Island, NY) supporters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kennedy Catholic Gaels (Somers, NY), 5-1 in a league game.

With the triumph, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea improves its record to 16-1 on the year. The Vikings host St. Mary's (Lancaster, NY) to play the Lancers in a non-league game on Thursday, May 22. The Lancers enter the game with a record of 11-3. St. Mary's won 17-0 in their recent league game against Sacred Heart Academy (Buffalo, NY)

The Gaels now hold a 11-6 record.
