The Mahwah Thunderbirds triumphed over the visiting West Milford Highlanders softball squad by a count of 6-1 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Thunderbirds play the Indian Hills Braves (Oakland, NJ) in a Big North - Patriot challenge, on Monday, May 19. Mahwah will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Braves enter the challenge with a 10-9 record after their 8-0 league win over Pascack Hills (Montvale, NJ).

The Highlanders (5-11) will now prepare for their challenge against DePaul Catholic (Wayne, NJ). The Spartans enter the non-league challenge with a 13-5 record. In their last challenge, DePaul Catholic edged North Hunterdon (Annandale, NJ), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.
