The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Rising Sun Shiners (Rising Sun, IN) and the host New Washington Mustangs (New Washington, IN), observed Rising Sun's softball team notch a victory over New Washington by a tally of 18-2.

The Shiners (14-3) will now prepare for their bout against South Ripley (Versailles, IN). The Raiders go into the Ohio River Valley bout with a 9-11 record. In their last bout, South Ripley gained a win over Southwestern (Hanover, IN), 9-5, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Southwestern Rebels (Hanover, IN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, May 17. New Washington will attempt to advance on its 2-11 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 8-8 record after their 14-1 league loss to Milan (Milan, IN).
