New York High School Softball - Akron nudges Southwestern

May 18, 2022: Akron, NY 14001

Akron Tigers (Akron, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Southwestern Trojans (Jamestown, NY), 10-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now sport a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fredonia for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 19. Akron will face a Hillbillies squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Westfield (Westfield, NY). The Hillbillies record now stands at 13-2.

With the loss, Southwestern falls to 2-13 on the campaign.
