Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans (Zoarville, OH) and the visiting Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH), witnessed Tuscarawas Valley's softball squad tip Martins Ferry by a count of 12-5.
The Trojans now sport a 10-2 record. They play next when they host Strasburg-Franklin for a Inter-Valley match on Monday, May 23. Tuscarawas Valley will face a Tigers squad coming off a 5-1 non-league win over Conotton Valley (Bowerston, OH). The Tigers record now stands at 18-4.
With the loss, Martins Ferry moves to 15-2 on the season.
