Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Big Rapids Cardinals (Big Rapids, MI) and the visiting Canton Chiefs (Canton, MI), witnessed Big Rapids's softball squad tip Canton by a count of 9-4.

The Cardinals now sport a 18-1 record. They play next when they travel to Newaygo for a Central State Activities Association-Gold match on Tuesday, May 21. Big Rapids will face a Lions squad coming off a 17-1 league win over Tri County Area (Howard City, MI). The Lions record now stands at 16-6.

With the loss, Canton moves to 16-9 on the season. The Chiefs travel to Stevenson (Livonia, MI) to face the Spartans in a non-league match on Monday, May 20. The Spartans go into the match with a record of 28-2. Stevenson won 7-6 in their recent non-league match against Divine Child (Dearborn, MI)
