Marine City Mariners (Marine City, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host North Branch Broncos (North Branch, MI), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mariners now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they host Marysville for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 18. Marine City will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over Croswell-Lexington (Croswell, MI). The Vikings record now stands at 14-3.

With the loss, North Branch falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Broncos travel to Almont (Almont, MI) to battle the Raiders in a Blue Water Area challenge on Tuesday, May 21. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 9-11.
