Waldwick Warriors (Waldwick, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pompton Lakes Cardinals (Pompton Lakes, NJ), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 17-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Emerson for a NJIC - Patriot challenge on Monday, May 20. Waldwick will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Cresskill (Cresskill, NJ). The Cavaliers record now stands at 11-9.

With the loss, Pompton Lakes falls to 10-12 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Manchester Regional (Haledon, NJ) to face the Falcons in a NJIC - Colonial challenge on Monday, May 20. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 2-16. Manchester Regional lost 21-0 in their recent league challenge against Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology (Paterson, NJ)
