St. Patrick Shamrocks (Portland, MI) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sacred Heart Academy Irish (Mt. Pleasant, MI), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Shamrocks now sport a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Laingsburg for a Central Michigan challenge on Monday, May 20.

With the loss, Sacred Heart Academy falls to 13-9 on the campaign. The Irish host Ravenna (Ravenna, MI) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 20. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 19-8. Ravenna lost 9-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Evart (Evart, MI)
