The Deerfield Warriors held off the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars soccer squad by a margin of 1-0 in Monday's league match.

MAddie Stevens started the sequence on the game winning goal by winning a tackle and passing the ball to Avery Kingsepp, who found Holly Deutsch. Deutsch executed a give and go with Ruby Levy, and then curled a cross to the far post that Emily Fox trapped and then drilled into the lower right corner for the only goal of the game.
