Tri-Valley Vikings (Downs, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Clinton Maroons (Clinton, IL), 17-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 9-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Paxton-Buckley-Loda for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Tri-Valley will face a Panthers squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to Rantoul (Rantoul, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 6-15.

With the loss, Clinton falls to 2-15 on the campaign. The Maroons host Warrensburg-Latham (Warrensburg, IL) to face the Cardinals in a challenge on Tuesday, May 3. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 13-9. Warrensburg-Latham lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Tri-City/Sangamon Valley (Niantic, IL)
