Broadneck Bruins (Annapolis, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Northern Patriots (Owings, MD), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Bruins now own a 1-0 record.

With the loss, Northern falls to 6-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host La Plata (La Plata, MD) to battle the Warriors in a challenge on Wednesday, May 3. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. La Plata lost 20-5 in their recent non-league challenge against King George (King George, VA)
