Lakewood Cougars (Arlington, WA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bellingham Bayhawks (Bellingham, WA), 9-3 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sedro-Woolley for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Thursday, May 4. Lakewood will face a Cubs squad coming off a 4-1 league win over Squalicum (Bellingham, WA). The Cubs record now stands at 8-1.

With the loss, Bellingham falls to 0-10 on the campaign. The Bayhawks host Oak Harbor (Oak Harbor, WA) to face the Wildcats in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Oak Harbor won 13-9 in their recent league challenge against Lynden Christian (Lynden, WA)
