The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) and the visiting Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC), saw Perquimans's softball squad nip Gates County by a count of 7-4.

The Pirates now sport a 18-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gates County for a Four Rivers 1A match on Friday, May 5. Perquimans will face a Red Barons squad coming off a 7-4 league loss to Perquimans (Hertford, NC). The Red Barons record now stands at 11-10.

With the loss, Gates County falls to 11-10 on the campaign. The Red barons host Perquimans (Hertford, NC) to face the Pirates in a Four Rivers 1A match on Friday, May 5.
