Saratoga Falcons (Saratoga, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Monte Vista Christian Mustangs (Watsonville, CA), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Falcons now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Santa Clara for a El Camino challenge on Friday, May 5. Saratoga will battle a Bruins squad coming off a 20-4 league loss to Fremont (Sunnyvale, CA). The Bruins record now stands at 8-9.

With the loss, Monte Vista Christian falls to 13-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Soledad (Soledad, CA) to battle the Aztecs in a PCAL - Cypress challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Aztecs enter the challenge with a record of 7-5. Soledad won 8-5 in their recent league challenge against Alisal (Salinas, CA)
