The Martins Ferry Purple Riders baseball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Monroe Central Seminoles to 4 in the Purple Riders non-league victory on Thursday.
The Purple Riders (11-5) will now prepare for their match against Cambridge (Cambridge, OH). The Bobcats go into the non-league match with a 11-5 record. In their last match, Cambridge edged Fort Frye (Beverly, OH), 5-1, in a non-league match.
The Seminoles (7-11) will now prepare for their match against Union Local (Belmont, OH). The Jets go into the non-league match with a 0-12 record. In their last match, Union Local was overwhelmed by Weir (Weirton, WV), 10-9, in a non-league match.
