Jasper Wildcats (Jasper, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Barr-Reeve Vikings (Montgomery, IN), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Posey for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. Jasper will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 6-2 league win over Southridge (Huntingburg, IN). The Vikings record now stands at 12-4.

With the loss, Barr-Reeve falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Vikings host Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN) to battle the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 14-4. Heritage Hills won 3-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Perry Central (Leopold, IN)
