Lightridge Bolts (Aldie, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Independence (Ashburn, VA), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Bolts now own a 18-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Riverside for a Potomac challenge on Tuesday, May 7. Lightridge will battle a Ram squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA). The Ram record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, Independence falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The host Briar Woods (Ashburn, VA) to battle the Falcons in a Potomac game on Tuesday, May 7. The Falcons come into the game with a record of 12-5. Briar Woods won 10-0 in their recent league game against Potomac Falls (Sterling, VA)
