The Peoria Lions softball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Lanphier Lions to 5 in the Lions non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Peoria moves its record to 2-8 on the year. The Lions travel to Normal West (Normal, IL) to clash with the Wildcats in a Big Twelve game on Tuesday, May 7. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 8-11.

In their next game, the Lions clash with the Sangamon Valley/Tri-City Storm (Niantic, IL) in a non-league game, on Friday, May 3. Lanphier will attempt to move on its 3-16 season record. The Storm come into the game with a 19-2 record after their 16-4 non-league win over North Greene (White Hall, IL).
