Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars (Montclair, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rutgers Prep Argonauts (Somerset, NJ), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they host Livingston for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 4. Montclair Kimberley Academy will battle a Lancers squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Mount St. Dominic Academy (Caldwell, NJ). The Lancers record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Rutgers Prep falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Argonauts travel to South Hunterdon (Lambertville, NJ) to battle the Eagles in a Skyland - Mountain challenge on Friday, May 3. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. South Hunterdon lost 6-2 in their recent non-league game against Vernon (Vernon, NJ)
