Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Owen Valley Patriots (Spencer, IN) and the visiting South Putnam Eagles (Greencastle, IN), witnessed Owen Valley's softball squad tip South Putnam by a count of 8-2.

The Patriots now sport a 7-5 record. They play next when they host White River Valley for a non-league match on Friday, May 3. Owen Valley will face a Wolverines squad coming off a 10-4 non-league loss to Greencastle (Greencastle, IN). The Wolverines record now stands at 0-8.

With the loss, South Putnam moves to 9-9 on the season. The Eagles travel to Sullivan (Sullivan, IN) to face the Golden Arrows in a Western Indiana match on Friday, May 3. The Golden Arrows go into the match with a record of 17-4. Sullivan won 2-1 in their recent non-league match against Terre Haute South Vigo (Terre Haute, IN)
