Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Westerly Bulldogs (Westerly, RI) and the visiting Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI), observed Westerly's volleyball team top Portsmouth by a count of 3-1.

The Bulldogs (7-3) will now prepare for their contest against Johnston (Johnston, RI). The Panthers enter the Division 2 contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Johnston was knocked off by South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI), 3-2, in a league contest.

Next, the Patriots battle the Mt. Hope Huskies (Bristol, RI) in a Division 3 contest, on Monday, May 5. Portsmouth will attempt to move on its 10-1 season record. The Huskies enter the contest with a 10-1 record after their 3-0 league win over St. Raphael Academy (Pawtucket, RI).
