The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears (Merion Station, PA) and the host Baldwin Bears (Bryn Mawr, PA), observed Merion Mercy Academy's softball team get by Baldwin by a tally of 8-3.

The Golden Bears (12-3) will now prepare for their bout against Villa Joseph Marie (Holland, PA). The Jems go into the Catholic Academies bout with a 7-9 record. In their last bout, Villa Joseph Marie tipped Gwynedd Mercy Academy (Gwynedd Valley, PA), 7-2, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Bears clash with the Germantown Academy Patriots (Fort Washington, PA) in a Inter-Academic bout, on Monday, May 5. Baldwin will attempt to advance on its 4-4 season record.
