The Mount St. Dominic Academy Lions softball team scored 11 runs and held the host Newark Academy Minutemen to 1 in the Lions non-league win on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Governor Livingston for a non-league battle on Friday, May 2. Mount St. Dominic Academy will encounter a Highlanders team coming off a 3-2 league win over Dayton (Springfield, NJ). The Highlanders record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Newark Academy moves to 4-9 on the season. The Minutemen host Glen Ridge (Glen Ridge, NJ) to encounter the Ridgers in a SEC - Liberty battle on Monday, May 5. The Ridgers come into the battle with a record of 7-7. Glen Ridge lost 6-3 in their recent non-league battle against Montclair (Montclair, NJ)
