The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) and the visiting Normal West Wildcats (Normal, IL), observed Olympia's softball team get by Normal West by a tally of 3-2.

The Spartans (12-7) will now prepare for their bout against Normal University (Normal, IL). The Pioneers go into the non-league bout with a 10-12 record. In their last bout, Normal University was nipped by Washington (Washington, IL), 7-4, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Normal Community Ironmen (Normal, IL) in a Big Twelve bout, on Tuesday, May 6. Normal West will attempt to advance on its 7-12 season record. The Ironmen go into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 4-3 non-league win over Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL).
