Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Winthrop Ramblers (Winthrop, ME), 3-1 in a league test.

With the win, Spruce Mountain upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Phoenix host Carrabec (North Anson, ME) to battle the Cobras in a Class C South test on Monday, May 23. The Cobras come into the test with a record of 1-9. Carrabec lost 21-0 in their recent league test against Mount Abram (Strong, ME)

With the defeat, Winthrop falls to 8-6 on the season. The Ramblers travel to Boothbay (Boothbay Harbor, ME) to battle the Seahawks in a Class C South test on Monday, May 23. The Seahawks come into the test with a record of 1-9.
