Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the South River Seahawks (Edgewater, MD) and the host Laurel Spartans (Laurel, MD), witnessed South River's softball squad prevail over Laurel by a count of 11-1.
The Seahawks now sport a 7-1 record. They play next when they travel to Severna Park for a non-league match on Tuesday, May 24. South River will face a Falcons squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Bowie (Bowie, MD). The Falcons record now stands at 6-3.
With the loss, Laurel moves to 6-2 on the season.
