Indiana High School Baseball - Jay County defeats Blackford

May 20, 2024: Portland, IN 47371

Jay County Patriots (Portland, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Blackford Bruins (Hartford City, IN), 9-4 in a non-league test.

With the win, Jay County upgrades its record to 13-11 on the season. The Patriots travel to New Castle (New Castle, IN) to battle the Trojans in a non-league test on Friday, May 24. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 6-20. New Castle won 7-3 in their recent non-league test against Centerville (Centerville, IN)

With the defeat, Blackford falls to 18-8 on the season. The Bruins host Eastbrook (Marion, IN) to play the Panthers in a Central Indiana battle on Thursday, May 23. The Panthers enter the battle with a record of 9-13.
