Iowa City Little Hawks (Iowa City, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Davenport West Falcons (Davenport, IA), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Little Hawks now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Xavier for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 21. Iowa City will face a Saints squad coming off a 16-3 non-league win over North Linn (Troy Mills, IA). The Saints record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Davenport West falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Falcons host North Scott (Eldridge, IA) to face the Lancers in a Mississippi Athletic challenge on Tuesday, May 28. The Lancers enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
