Saugus Sachems (Saugus, MA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Masconomet Regional Chieftains (Boxford, MA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Sachems now sport a 8-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Watertown for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 21.

With the loss, Masconomet Regional falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Wilmington (Wilmington, MA) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 22. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 6-2.
