Illinois High School Baseball - St. Bede holds off Mendota

May 20, 2026: Peru, IL 61354

The crowd at Wednesday's non-league battle between the St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL) and the visiting Mendota Trojans (Mendota, IL), saw St. Bede's baseball team gain a win over Mendota by a tally of 8-4.

The Bruins (22-12) will now prepare for their battle against Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn (Roanoke, IL). The Rockets enter the Tri-County battle with a 20-11 record. In their last battle, Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn held off LeRoy (LeRoy, IL), 9-1, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Trojans face the Plano Reapers (Plano, IL) in a non-league battle, on Friday, May 22. Mendota will attempt to upgrade on its 13-14 season record. The Reapers enter the battle with a 14-18 record after their 12-9 non-league win over Streator (Streator, IL).
