The Morgan Township Cherokees (Valparaiso, IN) softball routed the visiting Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN), 9-3 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Cherokees (12-6) will now prepare for their bout against Westville (Westville, IN). The Blackhawks go into the non-league bout with a 5-13 record.

The Kougars now possess a 7-13 record. They play next when they travel to Knox for a non-league bout on Thursday, May 26. Kankakee Valley will confront a Redskins squad coming off a 9-0 non-league win over Plymouth (Plymouth, IN). The Redskins record now stands at 10-14.
