The crowd at Wednesday's league bout between the Piscataquis Pirates (Guilford, ME) and the host Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners (Deer Isle, ME), observed Piscataquis's softball team notch a victory over Deer Isle-Stonington by a tally of 20-5.

The Pirates (2-5) will now prepare for their bout against Mount View (Thorndike, ME). The Mustangs go into the non-league bout with a 1-8 record. In their last bout, Mount View gained a win over Washington Academy (East Machias, ME), 5-2, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Mariners battle the Penobscot Valley Howlers (Howland, ME) in a Class D North bout, on Friday, May 23. Deer Isle-Stonington will attempt to advance on its 2-8 season record. The Howlers go into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 15-4 league win over Woodland (Baileyville, ME).
