Wicksburg Panthers (Newton, AL) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Glenwood Gators (Phenix City, AL), 5-3 in a league game.

With the triumph, Wicksburg upgrades its record to 37-16 on the year. The Panthers travel to Madison Academy (Madison, AL) to play the Mustangs in a non-league game on Friday, May 22. The Mustangs enter the game with a record of 25-12. Madison Academy lost 5-3 in their recent non-league game against Saint James (Montgomery, AL)

The Gators now own a 21-14 record.
