The Merrill Vandals softball team scored 16 runs and limited the visiting Ashley Bears to 1 in the Vandals league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Merrill moves its record to 5-4 on the year. The Vandals host St. Louis (St. Louis, MI) to clash with the Sharks in a non-league game on Wednesday, May 24. The Sharks come into the game with a record of 11-3. St. Louis won 12-0 in their recent non-league game against Breckenridge (Breckenridge, MI)

In their next game, the Bears clash with the Vestaburg Wolverines (Vestaburg, MI) in a Mid-State game, on Tuesday, May 23. Ashley will attempt to move on its 0-9 season record. The Wolverines come into the game with a 3-7 record after their 8-6 league loss to St. Charles (St. Charles, MI).
