Hampden Broncos (Hampden, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Old Town Coyotes (Old Town, ME), 10-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Broncos now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brewer for a Class A North challenge on Friday, May 24. Hampden will battle a Witches squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Mount Desert Island (Mount Desert, ME). The Witches record now stands at 9-5.

With the loss, Old Town falls to 9-4 on the campaign. The Coyotes travel to Mount Desert Island (Mount Desert, ME) to battle the Trojans in a Class B North challenge on Friday, May 24. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 6-7. Mount Desert Island lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Brewer (Brewer, ME)
